Abstract

Earth contains vast reserves of minerals, energy sources, and biodiversity that remain unrevealed due to the limitations of conventional exploration methods, which are costly, slow, and environmentally disruptive. Artificial intelligence (AI) offers a transformative alternative by enabling data-driven discovery, predictive modeling, and autonomous decision making in extreme and inaccessible environments. This article examines the integration of AI techniques, including advanced machine learning, computer vision, and generative models with advanced sensing technologies, remote monitoring, and geospatial analytics to accelerate the identification of untapped resources. Beyond efficiency, AI-driven exploration reduces human risk, minimizes ecological impact, and generates novel insights into planetary systems. By uniting environmental stewardship with technological innovation, this study positions AI as a pivotal enabler of sustainable and ethically responsible resource discovery, opening new frontiers for science, industry, and global development.
